Returning Student Admission

Students who have not returned within one full academic year from last enrollment term, must reapply through the statewide Apply Texas application to Lamar University and meet readmission criteria.

Students returning less than one full academic year from last enrollment term, may return to Lamar University without needing to reapply for admission and should contact their academic advisor.

Exceptions include students who did not successfully complete conditional admission requirements. These students must reapply to Lamar University after completing the terms required to return, even if their lapse in enrollment is less than one academic year.

Former students who have attended another college must submit official transcripts of all academic work done after leaving LU and must meet the requirements for other Transfer Students – at least 2.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.
